Positioning

The Peru your clients won’t find online

Most travelers know the Peru they expect to see. We design the Peru they will remember.

TERRALBA combines the iconic places your clients expect with the people, territories and experiences that only open up through local relationships, field knowledge, trust and time.

Four ways to travel Peru
01

Iconic Peru — exceptionally done

Machu Picchu, the Sacred Valley, Cusco, Lima, Arequipa and Titicaca handled with exceptional guides, intelligent timing, precise logistics and private access wherever it is genuinely possible.

02

Deep Peru

Northern Peru, lesser-known archaeological areas, traditional communities, hidden valleys and places that sit well outside the conventional circuit.

03

Wild Peru

The high Andes, the Amazon, nature-led journeys, remote lodges, trekking and private expeditions.

04

Transformative Peru

Journeys built around nature, silence, indigenous knowledge, conservation, culture and meaningful human encounters — well beyond monument-ticking travel.

For travel advisors

Why travel advisors work with TERRALBA

One senior point of contact

The person who understands your client brief stays involved through design and through operations.

Direct supplier access

Direct relationships with Peru’s leading hotels, lodges and Amazon vessels, with commissionable advisor pricing.

Made from scratch

We do not recycle generic itineraries with your client’s name pasted on top.

Fast, intelligent proposals

We design around interests, pace, comfort level, personality, previous travel experience and budget.

Your client remains your client

No competing marketing. No solicitation. No circumvention.

White-label capability

Where appropriate, we can work discreetly behind the advisor’s own brand.

24/7 in-country support

During the journey, client and advisor can reach someone who knows the actual itinerary.

Remote without reckless

Specialists in difficult logistics and remote territory, with professional operating standards and realistic risk management.

Our favourite kind of enquiry

Give us the difficult brief.

  • 01A family where the grandparents want culture while the children want adventure.
  • 02A second-time Peru traveler who does not want another conventional circuit.
  • 03A honeymoon couple looking for wilderness without sacrificing comfort.
  • 04A traveler fascinated by indigenous knowledge rather than staged cultural tourism.
  • 05A private group wanting to access remote Andean territory beyond conventional logistics.

Those are the briefs we like.

Where they sleep matters

Places worth staying for

Sometimes the right place has five stars. Sometimes it has twelve rooms, no television and the Andes outside the window. What matters is whether it belongs in the journey.

Iconic luxury

When an exceptional, internationally recognised property genuinely belongs in the journey.

Boutique & design

Independent properties, restored historic buildings, intimate hotels and owner-run places.

Remote & remarkable

Conservation lodges, properties set in nature, extraordinary locations and small-scale stays.

Direct supplier relationships across Peru

We work directly with Peru’s leading luxury properties and Amazon vessels.

Amazon River Journeys

Aqua Expeditions and Delfin Amazon Cruises are part of our direct supplier network. We integrate their luxury river journeys in the Peruvian Amazon into tailor-made private itineraries — never as a standalone product.

Direct access. Thoughtfully integrated.

Direct operator access and confidential rates with Peru’s top-tier properties. For travel advisors, that means direct availability checks, commissionable advisor pricing and coordinated planning — from landmark luxury hotels to the Amazon’s finest river vessels.

Experience behind the brand

A new-generation DMC built on decades in the field

TERRALBA is a new brand, not a new presence in Peru. Its operating knowledge comes from years of itinerary design, public-sector tourism advisory and complex work in the field.

In 2012, as part of the international multidisciplinary team behind the Machu Picchu Master Plan, we contributed to the Tourism and Recreational Use Plan for the Machu Picchu Historic Sanctuary. In 2020, we were commissioned to evaluate the implementation of the 2015–2019 Master Plan, including conservation recommendations.

Responsible practice

Specific choices, not broad claims.

01

Direct community payments

We agree direct community rates and make direct payments through Yape or PLIN, without inserting an unnecessary intermediary.

02

Professional rates set locally

Local freelance guides set their own rates. TERRALBA pays the rates requested rather than negotiating them down.

03

Deliberate low-volume choices

We do not operate Vinicunca, the mass-tourism Uros complex or Taquile. We favour alternatives such as Palcoyo and Pallay Poncho, and territories where community relationships make careful, low-volume operations possible.

04

Conservation-led suppliers

Where they suit the client brief, we work with suppliers whose work includes conservation, including Rainforest Expeditions in Tambopata and Inkaterra.

Your people in Peru

Small enough to know every journey. Experienced enough to know what can go wrong.

The person who understands the brief stays involved through design and operations.

Credentials

Institutional references

The references below document work carried out with Peruvian public institutions and programmes in protected-area management, tourism policy and community-based tourism.

01

SERNANP — Machu Picchu Historic Sanctuary

In 2012, as part of the international multidisciplinary team behind the Machu Picchu Master Plan, we contributed to the Tourism and Recreational Use Plan for the Machu Picchu Historic Sanctuary. In 2020, we were commissioned to evaluate the implementation of the 2015–2019 Master Plan, including conservation recommendations.

02

MINCETUR — Turismo Emprende / Amantaní Island, Lake Titicaca

We supported a family we have worked with for more than ten years in securing non-reimbursable funding through the Turismo Emprende programme. We also contributed to the study and presentation of a business plan helping tourism-hosting families on Amantaní Island calculate costs and set fair rates, together with the municipality and local organisations.

03

Sustainable and regenerative tourism advisory

Advisory work for regional and national tourism authorities across different regions of Peru.

Production & field logistics

Remote operations, proven in the field.

Featured operational credential

International film production — Manu National Park

Full field logistics for a six-figure international film production on the conservation of the world's last primary forests, led by an Academy Award–winning director — coordinating a 40-person team and 35 filmmakers over several months, across Lima, Cusco, the Kosñipata valley and the interior of Manu National Park.

Why it matters

Manu National Park is one of Peru's most complex territories to access: protected-area permits, river transport, days of travel from the departure point, and no infrastructure or communications. Sustaining a 40-person team and heavy technical equipment there for months, on production deadlines, is operational capability under extreme conditions.

For a travel advisor entrusting a high-value client to a DMC, this answers the question that really matters: can they operate where it is difficult, without improvising? It is the tangible proof of “remote without reckless”.
