Child Protection — ESNNA

Updated on 14 October 2026

At TERRALBA, we make an absolute and public commitment to the protection of children and adolescents. In strict compliance with Peru's General Tourism Law No. 29408, Law No. 30802 and the Travel Agency and Tourism Regulation (Supreme Decree No. 005-2020-MINCETUR), we declare our Zero Tolerance policy against the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents (ESNNA) in tourism.

Our agency has formally signed the Code of Conduct against ESNNA promoted by Peru's Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR).

Our operational commitments

  • Absolute refusal: we do not promote, facilitate or permit any conduct, programme or service that harms the integrity of a minor.
  • Responsible value chain: we require all our staff (employees, guides, drivers and direct suppliers) to subscribe to and comply with the ethical standards for the protection of minors, prohibiting any risky behaviour or the distribution of illegal material.
  • Mandatory identity checks: to book our services, a valid DNI or passport is required for every minor. When minors travel without their parents, the corresponding notarised or court-issued travel authorisation is mandatory.
  • Duty to report: in the event of any reasonable suspicion or witnessed act of sexual exploitation or child trafficking, our staff are trained to intervene and report it immediately to the competent authorities.

Important warning

The sexual exploitation and commercial sexual abuse of minors are crimes severely punished by imprisonment in Peru (under the Peruvian Penal Code), applicable to both nationals and foreign nationals. We will not be complicit: any client involved will be immediately reported to the Peruvian National Police and the Public Prosecutor's Office (Fiscalía de la Nación).
